New Years Photo

A photo to bring in the New Year...

A New Begininning

As of yesterday, I am a teacher of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science (until the end of the school year). The kids are a bit crazy, but they are a lot of fun. As I spoke on the phone with a friend, she asked many questions about what 'being a teacher' is like. I didn't really know how to answer. Yes, you are giving 'presentations' as she put it, all day long. But there is so much room for changes throughout the day and classes that it isn't a presentation. You can't plan for all of the questions, interruptions, and utter chaos that occurs in each and every class. I am so happy to be a teacher, but with only graduating a month and a half ago, it is hard to see I have turned into the person like whom I have looked up to for all of these years. This will be a learning experience for me, and I hope I am as effective as I wish and hope to be.

Along with becoming this teacher, I had to move an hour and a half away from home all by myself. It is a new beginning for me in a new city away from all of my friends and family. Is it exciting? Of course it is. It is also terrifying! I have realized that when I used to be at home all day, it wasn't so quiet after all. Not as quiet as living with yourself in a new town in your own apartment. So far the transition is okay, a few minor bumps in the road but nothing major. I believe that there are many obstacles in the road ahead of me but I am a strong enough person to overcome them. It is difficult being away from my fiance, family, and nephews! I can't wait to see all of them again, but I think I also need to take this time to make sure I truly figure out what kind of a person I am, and what kind of person I want to become before my life moves forward. I don't have any doubts about where my life is aiming, but reassurance is always a good thing.

Wish me luck and inspiration on this new beginning I have been blessed with.

What A Change!

I can't believe the change in the last year with Bennett! He is such a sweet little boy and I am so blessed to have him in my life. Although I have not gotten to see him or Landon too much lately, that amount is going to be dwindled down even more with my move. I will have to make sure when I am in town the boys get some quality time with their Auntie!

Overdue...Again!

I have been a failure at keeping up with my blog. I have been super busy, and I think that it is just starting up again! In December I graduated, and I recently found out I got a long-term teaching position. I am really excited to be in the classroom, but not as excited to move an hour and a half away. However this position may turn permanent, as of now it is only a temporary move and I will be back in the middle of June. I will try to keep everyone updated through my blog...so check it every so often!
